Implementation of LED lighting at the headquarters of the 4FunTV television station

Objective

Our company has delivered lighting products to the headquarters of the 4 Fun TV television station located at Bobrowiecka Street in Warsaw’s Mokotów district. This music television, which has been broadcasting for over 10 years, has gained a large group of fans and sympathizers. One of the elements of the station’s success was undoubtedly the adaptation of its programming offer to the recipient.

4 Fun TV has prepared several profiled channels such as 4Fun Hits or 4Fun Fits & Dance. Continuing to develop the music channel formula, 4 Fun TV has now created the model of the “first social music television”. It is a station that stands out among others for its extraordinary and modern approach to broadcasting programs, hence the lighting of such a place had to reflect its character.

Execution

The company’s seat occupies a large usable space designed for various activities. The room of the music station is a place that must stimulate creative work, so the issue of lighting quality is crucial. The main burden of the project rested on the LED Ultra Slim 45W 1200x300mm panel in neutral version (4000-4500K).

It is a product that is mainly dedicated to office spaces and in the case of 4 Fun TV this thesis is confirmed. The panels were mounted mainly on the ceiling and in addition to their light properties, they also present an interesting element of interior design, emphasizing the modern style of the workplace. Due to their extremely thin design, the installation possibilities are endless. They are suitable for both flush and surface mounting. The matte diaphragm of the diodes provides a perfect light dispersion and makes the panel glow with its entire surface, and is characterized by an energy-saving structure.

Before the implementation of energy-saving LED lighting by Greenie, 4Fun TV used 119,410 kWh, after modernization of LED lighting 36,332 kWh, which means that at an average electricity rate, we generated annual savings of PLN 31,000, which translates into a 16-month return on investment (ROI).

An interesting fact is the use of Parthenon industrial-street bulbs in the office and conference part, and more specifically the Parthenon E27 30W version. They are intensely luminous, very efficient bulbs, which we mainly recommend for street and industrial applications. Since 4 Fun TV needed intense lighting, and the modern interior allowed the use of metal, industrial “buckets” fittings, we decided to install this model of light bulbs in them. Thanks to this, intense lighting and the right amount of lux were obtained.

Greenie LED bulbs from the Parthenon series have a matte diode cover, thanks to which the light emitted by them is scattered and does not hurt the eyes. As you can see in the example of 4 Fun TV – the smaller power of this model (e.g. 20 or 30W) can be used not only in street or industrial lighting. We believe that they will also play their role in domestic lighting – in large, spacious rooms.

In addition, CornLike E27 48x2835SMD 12W LED bulbs also in a neutral version were used throughout the station. In addition, as decorative and ceiling lighting, LED strips were used in a multicolor (RGB) and warm white version – it was used in suspended ceilings, among others in a recording studio. The corridors are equipped with GU10 LED light sources – equivalents of classic halogen bulbs.

In the hall and the main part of the building, there are richly decorated chandeliers with E14 bulbs from the Candle series – these are light sources with a classic, candle-like design, ideal for use in this type of chandelier with a timeless character.

The bulbs have a power of 3.5W, which corresponds to a standard 40W bulb – so they consume more than 10 times less electricity, and shine just as intensely as the old type 40W lighting. They are available in warm and neutral light colors. The warm color is perfect for 4 Fun TV – the color temperature is less than 2800K, which is yellow light, pleasant to the eye, giving the interior a cozy character.

The bulbs are offered with heat sinks in silver or gold, which makes this product stand out – the customer can decide for himself which color of the housing best suits his chandelier or interior. This model of E14 bulbs is also often used in the lighting of sacred buildings, but as you can see in the example of the 4 Fun TV television station – it can look good in a less obvious place.

The final result

All places were very well lit. The selected neutral light color is well combined with the white walls of the rooms. Bulbs mounted in ceiling lamps, generating strong white light, perfectly illuminated the rooms. Colored tapes added more colors to the already colorful interior of the building, thanks to which they play a role not only as lighting, but also design, blending in with the interior design. The products from our offer provided the right amount and quality of light, allowing traditionally to benefit from the savings and durability of LED sources.
