Modernization of lighting in the Keller Polska production plant

The company Greenie Polska this time received an order from a very well-known and respected company from the geotechnical services industry, whose roots date back to the 19th century – namely Keller. The Polish branch of this company decided to invest in new lighting for its warehouse, located in Ożarów Mazowiecki, which, next to Błonie and Pruszków, is the logistics base for the capital.

Better work conditions

The facility where the lighting was modernized consisted of a service hall measuring 37.7 m by 19.1 m, a high warehouse: 15.10 m by 13.10 m and a warehouse on the mezzanine: 15.10 m by 6 meters. It was found on the spot that the installation of the new lighting required a partial replacement of the electrical system to accommodate modern lamps.

At the beginning, in accordance with the standards, an audit of the work of the existing lighting was carried out and simulated in CAD and Dialux. The aim was to simulate the functioning of current and future lighting. This allowed to show all the elements that needed improvement in the existing lighting system, which could be corrected with the installation of the new Greenie LED lighting. One of the factors taken into account when implementing Dialux projects were the technical requirements for the appropriate amount of lux in specific rooms.

Assumptions

Initially, it was planned to provide light with an intensity of 300 lux, but after a careful examination of the client’s needs and consultations, it was decided to use more – 500 lux. All this to improve working conditions, increase safety and ensure the eyesight of employees in the service hall and warehouses.

Selection and assembly

After analyzing the technical drawings and simulations in the dialux program, the choice fell on two Greenie Polska products – the Industrial LED IC Gasoline 150W luminaire and the hermetic 1.5 m 70W LED Linear Lamp with IP65 tightness. A total of 46 Gasoline lamps were installed – 9 LH 70W LED linear lamps for the high warehouse, 9 linear lamps for the mezzanine warehouse and 28 IC Gasoline 150W Industrial LED lamps on the ceiling of the assembly hall. Gasoline lamps from Greenie are a product designed to work in demanding conditions. They can boast a power of up to 250W, but in this case it was appropriate to use IC Gasoline 150W LED industrial lamps, with 192 LEDs on one module and special lenses with a beam angle of 60 degrees.

This type of lamp is resistant to overvoltages – it was very important in this order, due to the crane that is located in this hall and generates them. The model has excellent heat dissipation thanks to the ribbed structure of its heat sink – which protects the lamp from overheating. It is very efficient – it has a high luminous efficiency of 120 lumens per Watt – it is definitely more than the old metal halide lamps, whose lifetime was low and required replacements that were burdensome for the company. The Greenie Polska company gave a 5-year warranty for the Gasoline lamp.

LH 70W LED Linear Lamp

The second model – the LH 70W LED Linear Lamp, in turn, can boast a hermetic polycarbonate housing, which allows it to work in conditions with increased humidity. Thanks to the built-in power supplies with a high PF factor, they consume less reactive energy. High efficiency combined with a matte shade allows you to obtain the right amount of light without the troublesome glare effect – therefore it will be perfect for offices and other parts of the Keller Polska building.

Lamp customization

The Greenie Polska company, listening to the needs of Keller Polska, increased the power of LH LED linear lamps to 70W in order to obtain better lighting conditions for the mezzanine of the warehouse and offices in the rest of the building. After completing the formalities, Greenie Polska employees transported the lamps and efficiently installed a new lighting system in ecological LED technology. As a result, old electrical installations were replaced and comfortable working conditions were provided for employees in the service hall and office workers. More light will have a significant impact on the well-being and efficiency of the warehouse staff.
