Before we started work, we conducted a detailed lighting audit. After thoroughly analyzing the characteristics of the store’s interior and the client’s needs, we decided that the client needed lighting that:
- will display food products
- will make the assortment look more advantageous
- it will have the possibility of wide adjustment of the angle of incidence of light, which will allow for voluntary changes of products on display
- will increase the amount of light
- will improve the working conditions of the store staff
Reflectors on a single-phase track in various variants turned out to be the best solution. The wide adjustment option allows you to frequently change the direction of the light beam, which makes it easier to highlight subsequent store shelves, including seasonal exposure. For each type of product, we have used a dedicated light color, in which the product will look the best. As the basic lighting, we chose reliable reflectors on a 3-phase track from Blaupunkt.

The juicy color of the meat is effectively fueled by the pink color of the light. That is why we decided to use a reflector with just such a beam of light. The natural color of red meat appears more intense in the glow of a reflector emitting a pink beam of light with a high color rendering index. The higher the CRI, the more vivid the color is.
To illuminate the cheeses, we used a warm white reflector at a temperature of 2700K. Due to their yellow color, the cheeses look unfavorable in a neutral light color, which makes them less expressive. The task of the stream is to protect the naturally yellow color of the cheeses, therefore the pink color will not work well in this case.

How to illuminate other products?
Other food products and textiles found on most of the store’s surfaces should be illuminated with a uniform light color so as not to introduce unnecessary chaos into the store space – and so we did. We used a reflector emitting a warm beam of light. It has a relaxing effect on customers, makes them feel good in the store and they are ready to buy more products. Products such as pasta, eggs or bread are best suited to a warm color. Bread looks fresh and tasty due to its shiny brown crust illuminated by a warm color.
Fish and seafood lighting
The pale shade of fish and seafood needs a special light source. The natural color of light reflects the marine character of these products. The beam at 4000K maintains the neutrality of the fish, while any other beam of light would change their perception. The exception is smoked fish, to which we used a warm color of light that emphasizes the meat in the smoke.
